Bastion Hotel Zoetermeer

I had a cramped room, but the shower was super noisy and poorly designed.

Friendly, welcoming staff and a quiet location, convenient for the highway. Breakfast was superb, the rooms were clean with tea and coffee and a few UK channels on TV.

I arrived by train to find the hotel some distance from the station and with no footpath - luckily I'd printed a map but you have to walk on the cycle path along the highway. Better to go to Zoetermeer Central and take a taxi. The hotel was also far from the town centre and there were no local maps available at the hotel for guests.

The rooms are well laid out and new-fashioned with big beds and the staff are absolutely kind. Central heating, a safe, and multi-channel television are available. The location is central, very close to a truck stop and local tourist attractions.

The rooms feature very small workspaces!!! Why use open cables running between levels? Please consider providing bottled water and tea in the rooms, as coffee without tea feels a bit cheap!!!

Convenience - nice comfortable hotel

Sweet as stay but those plastic glasses in the room were a bit dodge. The air conditioning was a lifesaver, though! We had a good night's sleep.

You have to be very careful about which room you are put into as my 1st room was about 150metres away from a major train line and the noise was disturbing. To be fair the hotel staff, after a bit of insistence, did change me to a room on the other side of the hall which was absolutely fine. Had I not checked in so early I wouldn't have had the opportunity to change and would have experienced a terrible night's sleep.

The staff was friendly.

The shower floor had poor structure, causing water to almost overflow from the shower room, quite inconvenient.

A bit far from the town centre - about a one hour round trip to visit the market place.

The food was great, especially breakfast! 🍳 The staff worked hard to make us happy, though options ran low some evenings. A little more food variety would be nice next time.

Really surprised how good it was! The staff were super attentive, and the brekkie was lekker with freshly made omelettes and salmon. Our room was nice and quiet, and we had all we needed!

It was a bit isolated next to a train line, but honestly, didn't bother us much.
